The best prototypes will be exhibited and pitched during the Ditrex Conference.

DESCRIPTION
The Digital Transformation Innovation & Challenge Days allow companies and universities to develop together innovative engineering and IoT solutions based on practical use cases. The DTA-Innovation Challenge Days bring together, in the space of a week, companies, designers, engineers, students and entrepreneurial innovators to transform ideas innovation in prototypes.
On the basis of ;
– A concrete challenge from a company or institution, or
– On proposals for innovation ideas in one of the DTA’s action lines,
participants will design engineering solution models (e.g. Breathing apparatus, circuit or electrical wiring, Agricultural robot, Product processing machine, mobile consultation tablet, smart city prototype, etc.);
Then they will validate them using simulation (3D, CFD, FEM, static/dynamic, etc.). The best prototypes will be printed in 3D to be exhibited and presented at the Ditrex conference.
*Topics of interest: Engineering and IOT in the fields of mechanics, electricity, mechatronics, robotics, automation, etc. and their application in health,urbanization, industrialization, agriculture, renewable energy, sustainable city, mobility, etc.
*Software platform: Dassault Systèmes 3D experiment (Catia, Solidworks, Delmia, Simulia, etc.)
WHY 3D DESIGN AND SIMULATION?
3D design allows you to present products, designs, ideas and objects in a
totally new perspective that captures the imagination of users or customers. Simulation is a shortcut to the traditional approach, which would consist of physically producing the
part and then subject it to actual physical tests. The manufacture of parts being expensive and
long, virtual simulation saves a lot of time and money. It allows a kind of sequence of virtual tests, in which a design is “virtually tested” using an approximation of real-life conditions. The design is reformulated to
take into account the problems, then re-simulated. This operation continues until the design is
able to handle simulated conditions.

PROCESS
Before the event
- Companies share their innovation challenge through the online platform .
- Registration of participants and choice of existing ideas or proposals of ideas in one of the line of DTA.
- Participants do interactive brainstorming and form teams.
- Students selected after several selection stages receive training in technological tools and trades, in order to be ready for the challenge.
- Each team must bring together members with various backgrounds (e.g. design training, technical and commercial).
During the event
- Participants present their idea for one of the challenges and come together with their team to give shape to the idea using 3D design and simulation and IoT and AI technologies.
- For a week, teams create ideas and build prototypes (3D design) with the support from mentors and coaches.
- The three best solutions are selected to present their results at the conference.
After the event
- Location and exhibition during the conference.
- The three best solutions will be 3D printed and demonstrated during the conference.
- The three best solutions are awarded at the gala evening.
- The finalist teams integrate the incubation program for the implementation of the idea with the support partner companies.
